Bayley PULLED From WWE Summerslam! | WWE Raw, Aug. 7, 2017 Review

Bayley is out of Summerslam! Roman Reigns
was beaten by an office chair. In his face. And Brock Lesnar likes roleplay. I’m Oli Davis, and-GODDAMMIT HOW DID THAT
GET ON MY HEAD-this is the 7th August 2017 edition of Monday Night Raw…in about 4 minutes. Miz TV With Brock Lesnar
Miz opened the show calling out Jason Jordan, but Kurt Angle had another guest in mind… Brock Lesnar. Miz pointed out for the 129th time in WWE
that Lesnar doesn’t even have to be pinned at Summerslam to lose the title, leading Paul
Heyman to rather kinkily ask: do you and Maryse like roleplay? Because him and Brock do – oo er.
Heyman brilliantly suggested they do some now, casting Bo Dallas as Samoa Bo, Curtis
Axel as Braun Strowman and The Miz as Roman Reigns. Brock Lesnar gets to be Brock Lesnar. In a preview of Summerslam’s main event,
The Beast threw everyone around the ring. This was a very good opening segment. Sheamus beat Seth Rollins
The following match, though – where Sheamus beat Seth Rollins after Cesaro’s distraction
– was a bit repetitive after last week. But it was part of a larger story on Raw – in
the post-match beatdown, Dean Ambrose didn’t run out to save his former Shield buddy. Jason Jordan beat Jean-Pierre Goulet
With Curtis Axel taken out by Lesnar at the start of the show, Angle needed to find his
illegitimate son someone else to fight. Unfortunately for Jason Jordan, Kurt picked
Jean-Pierre Goulet, a hometown underdog the Toronto crowd unsurprisingly decided to cheer. It’s Bizarro-land, Maggle! For some reason, The Canadians don’t want
to cheer badly booked babyfaces! Sasha Banks beat Alicia Fox & Emma
The same thing happened in the following segment. Toronto booed Bayley as she announced her
shoulder injury means her Summerslam match is off. In her place, there will be two three-ways
tonight, with the winners fighting in a new No. 1 contenders match next Monday in Boston. Which is Sasha Banks’ hometown, so she’s
most definitely losing there after beating Alicia Fox and Emma this week. Galanderson beat Big EnzShow Amore
We’ve got a new tag team on Raw – Big EnzShow Amore. I’m working on a better name. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson took on the
NERDS, winning thanks to some Big Cass distraction. EnzShow ended standing tall, though, giving
Cass a knockout punch. Later, Kurt finally made their Summerslam
match – Big Cass vs Big Show with Enzo in a shark cage suspended above the ring. Hopefully he gets to do live commentary from
up there. Finn Balor & Bray Wyatt
Finn Balor and Bray Wyatt’s Summerslam build is equally lacklustre, built entirely around
who has the sneakier ring entrance. Dean Ambrose beat Cesaro
After months and months of Intercontinental title limbo, Dean Ambrose feels rejuvenated. He’s involved in WWE’s best storyline
right now, and I actually get excited hearing his music again, rather than just thinking,
‘well here comes another Miz match…’ He had a great match with Cesaro here, and
tying into the bout earlier that night, Sheamaro beat down Ambrose in frustration, leading
Rollins to run down for the save. For the first time in their thawing relationship
so far, it was Dean who made himself vulnerable, extending his arm for the Shield fist bump. The crowd really wanted to see it happen,
actually invested – actually believing in – a babyface story for a change. But Ambrose had left Rollins high and dry
earlier in the night, so it was Seth’s turn to walk away. This is really, really great storytelling. Ariya Daivari beat Akira Tozawa
Titus Worldwide took one step closer to championship gold, with Akira Tozawa overcoming Ariya Daivari
ahead of his Summerslam Cruiserweight title match. Nia Jax beat Dana Brooke & Mickie James
Nia Jax will face Sasha next week after beating Dana Brooke and Mickie James (who I genuinely
forgot was employed by WWE). Braun Strowman beat Roman Reigns
Raw’s big main event was yet another combination of the four men fighting for the title at
Summerslam: this time Braun Strowman vs Roman Reigns in a Last Man Standing match. Braun received a hero’s welcome. Reigns…not so much. This is Toronto, after all. There was a guy wearing a ‘Roman Sucks’
t-shirt in the front row. Braun and Roman work very well together, especially
in hardcore stipulations: getting to have fun with steel steps, tables, and – most spectacularly
– an office chair straight to Roman’s face. It was a really fun match with a brilliant
– if illogical – ending. Roman had Braun beat with a spear, but just
as the referee was going to count Strowman out, Samoa Joe got Reigns in the Coquina Clutch
to choke him out – getting sweet revenge from last week. Weirdly, the referee stopped counting despite
Braun still being down and this being a No DQ match. Braun stood up just before the 10 count to
win. So that was this week’s Raw in about four
minutes. Here’s the usual ratings recap, from top
to bottom – In Awe, Cor, AVRAWGE, Poor and Bore. I’ll reveal my rating very shortly, but
first, vote in the poll above my head to give yours. I’ll announce the results in tomorrow’s
WrestleTalk News. Jason Jordan hasn’t clicked, Bayley’s
getting booed, and the Big Show vs Big Cass and Finn Balor vs Bray Wyatt feuds are no
good. That said, Raw had plenty of highlights – Brock
Lesnar destroying the Miztourage, Dean Ambrose vs Cesaro and Braun Strowman throwing an office
chair in Roman’s face. This week’s Raw is Cor. John Cena is reportedly moving to Raw soon. And what’s the real reason WWE released
Eva Marie? Click the videos to the left to find out,

  1. Sasha wins at summerslam bailey comes back attacks her..sets up fued. Or she"ll come back to support her be face for a while then tuen heel nearer to wrestlemania for title win.

  2. They should build up Jordan's neck breaker leading to tensions between JJ and Angle, with Angle seeing JJ targeting people's neck as lacking integrity, and JJ not giving a fuck. Eventually leading to JJ vs Angle at Mania. IF they really don't want Kurt wrestling, it can lead to JJ ultimately renouncing Kurt to get out of this storyline. Either way, JJ has great heel mannerisms and facial expressions and could easily get legit heat by "injuring" jobbers necks.

  3. My issues with Raw, and kind of Smackdown honestly, is the predictability of it… Sasha and Nia were of course going to win their matches, Joe was obviously going to get involved in the main event, Brock was obviously going to destroy the Miz, and of course Seth was going to save dean (I did enjoy that though)… I just want something exciting and fresh to happen, there's nothing surprising anymore…

  4. I'm gonna be honest. Last night I was only half-watching Raw, I was playing a video game xD I just don't really care as much anymore.

  5. hopefully she will back soon, but the legit boss, she will become the best opponent, for the raw women championship at wwe summer slam.

  6. Even considering the lackluster promos she's given, that was a super scummy thing to boo an injured Bayley. Seriously, she's hurt and she just found out that she's missing out on the 2nd biggest payday of the year and the career opportunity for a big 4 PPV match – then people boo her for it?

I'm not sure if WWE's booking is to blame or if the crowd were just raging a-holes, either way it was fairly hard to watch. They couldn't even show her the common courtesy of y'know – not booing a fellow human being who got injured by someone else.

  7. I really think this kinda episode should be the norm, this should be the standard episode, Cor should be when 80% of and ep is great, so voted avRawge

  8. @OliDavis I very much enjoy watching your segments. Ever think about doing a Monday Night War type scenario with the guys from WhatCulture Wrestling?

  9. Damn it I wanted it to be between Emma and Mickie James, not episode 1649239762659835 of Sasha Banks vs Nia Jax, but oh well whoever wins hopefully will give a good match at SummerSlam

  10. They stole that chair bit from new Japan pro wrestling! Okada vs evil which just happened a few days before!

  11. Let's see if WWE steals your name for the Enzo-Big Show team. If not, I doubt theirs will be any better.

  12. Let me sum up Raw for everyone; Over-rated Banks, Cesaro Jobs Again, Big Show/Cass/Enzo crap, Reigns looks strong. And, for the record, Smackdown is even worse…

  13. I guess I'm the only one who really doesn't want Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to team let alone win the raw tag team titles

  14. I wasn't looking when Roman was grabbed by Joe, I glanced over and literally thought a fan grabbed him and was trying to choke him out lmao 😂

  15. Raw definitely wasn't the best this week but it certainly was not poor either, with that great main event it has to be at least core

  16. This is what happens when underwear models like Nia pretends to injure someone else, But the underwear model really did break baeleys shoulder.

  17. ⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻⸻ says:

Big Enshow, the z is unnecessary

  18. nia's in the #1 contender's match, i called it, she's pulling the jinder knock-out-a-popular-guy-to-get-a-title-shot special

  19. I really hope they are setting up for a Wyatt family Vs Balor Club, The club is on RAW why not? Helps to have 3 factions back including the shield. With Braun coming back to the Wyatts it will give him an easy to pick opponent Roman.

  20. I still don't understand why the ref stopped counting with Strowman down. Reigns should have won that match, whether we like it not.

  21. Bayley lets her hair down, both actually and figuratively by showing sadness, and gets booed for it. Disturbing to watch. Of course, the promo was bad. But they always are. In the end, the fans should be on her side, as she fights adversity in form of bad booking. She is tough. She'll go on and learn from it.

  22. Are Raw and SDLive in competition for screwy endings now? All in all, I've seen better Raws, and I've seen worse, but at least I'm not the only one who thought the end of the LMS match was, shall we say, odd?

  23. Roman is a fkn legit beast, the guy takes beat and dishes it with style. It's a shame he gets booed as he is a badass, heel reigns we'd be beast

  24. Rollins and ambrose is all over the place because … Seth is begging for Shield reunion but ambrose didn't trust (which makes sense) but when Seth's trust is earned by Dean, Seth pies him

  25. 4:47 , Ummmm…. Oli, in a last man standing match, the count stops if eother man is so much as touched by someone else, even if not involved in the match, check Cena vs Del Rio at Vengence 2011 for the WWE title.

  26. Hmmmmm, Is it about time Asuka made her way to the main event? Mysteriously dropping Nia out the back to take her place against Alexa and win…… turning up the next night on Raw with both the NXT belt and the woman's championship. Alexa would be able to stamp her feet at that one. Setting up feuds with the entire locker room.

  27. The funniest part was when Bayley was doing her promo

    *Crowd start to boo

*Bayley goes aaaaahhhhhhhhh like she saw a cute puppy

  28. What do you think about if the WWE would move the entire women's division to RAW? I think it would make them more competitive and could be highlighted.

  29. Let us have a moment of silence for the office chair. Then repeatedly watch videos of Roman getting destroyed by said office chair.

  30. Bottom line, this has been a sh*t year for Bayley. Raw creative has completely ruined the Bayley character with their sh*t booking. Better were the days in NXT when she was super over with the crowd, had classic matches with Sasha, and basically was protected and booked correctly under Triple H.
I feel bad for her. She's still a fantastic role model for the young audience and maybe a switching to SDLive might resurrect her career.

  31. Cesaro v Dean was one of the best matches I've seen in a long time, and I usually fall asleep whenever Ambrose is on screen.

  32. Hopefully, the goldust promo will lead to him coming out during miz tv or whatever miz does as goldust is looking for his next big star and who else but the a lister… that could lead to one final title run for goldust and would be a nice change to both the miz and goldust storylines

  33. Glad you made the point about the ref that stopped counting in the Roman-Strowman match. This made no sense at all, and once again, as happens so frequently now, I was pulled out of the match and forced into a mode of asking WTF.
